Chiropractic Involvement

 

Dr. Orchard is a member of the  Canadian Chiropractic Association, Ontario Chiropractic Association and Waterloo Regional Chiropractic Society. He is also volunteering his time as a board member for the Ontario Chiropractic Association since the fall of 2004.

 

Dr. Orchard was hired as a Chiropractor Consultant for St. Mary’s General Hospital Med/Rehab DisabilityAssessment Centre from 1999 to 2006 performing third party assessments and opinions concerning the rehabilitation of motor vehicle accident victims for the Ontario insurance industry.

 

Dr. Orchard was the chiropractor for the Wilfrid Laurier Men’s Basketball Team, coached by Peter Campbell, from 2000 to 2008.

 

Since 2005, McMaster University medical students visit with Dr. Orchard at his office to “job shadow” and ask questions about Chiropractic care. This is part of the students' program to educate themselves about other healthcare professionals and create potential for future collaboration.

 

Dr. Orchard performs independent Chiropractic Examinations for third party opinions concerning the treatment and assessment of motor vehicle accident victims for the Ontario Inurance Industry. 

Education

 

  • Honours Bachelor of Physical Education from McMaster University, 1977.

 

  • Earned basic and advanced Athletic Injury Management Certificates while at McMaster University.

 

  • Hired as a Fitness Consultant at the Fitness Institute in Toronto from 1977 to 1981.

 

  • Obtained an Exercise Specialist Certification (A.C.S.M./C.A.S.S.) in 1980.

  • Completed the Ontario Chiropractic Association Occupational Health Injuries Certification course, 1990-1991.

 

  • Completed the Independent Chiropractic Examiner Certificate Program with the Canadian Society for Chiropractic Examiners and the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.

 

  • Certified in the AMA Guides to Impairment Rating (4th edition) by the American Board of Forensic Professionals, July 2012.

 

 

Extracurricular Activities

 

Dr. Orchard leads a healthy and active lifestyle; his personal health goals are very similar to the health goals you may have for yourself. If you have questions or concerns about your health, Dr. Orchard is an excellent resource and he will be able to lead you in the right direction if you require assistance.

 

Dr. Orchard enjoys physical activities such as: tennis, squash, biking, kayaking and hiking.
